Psychology and Integrative Wellbeing Support

Mental health can affect how we think, feel, relate to others and manage everyday life. It can also influence sleep, energy, physical tension, concentration and overall wellbeing. Our psychology service provides a safe and supportive environment for clients aged 16 and over to explore their concerns, develop greater understanding and work towards meaningful and practical change.
Care is tailored to each person’s experiences, needs and goals. Depending on the individual, psychological support may focus on emotional wellbeing, coping strategies, relationships, behavioural patterns, self-regulation or the connection between mental and physical health.

What to Expect

Psychological therapy provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns in a confidential, respectful and non-judgemental environment.

Your psychologist will work with you to better understand the factors affecting your wellbeing and identify strategies that are relevant to your circumstances.

Depending on your needs, appointments may involve:

  • Exploring thoughts, emotions and behavioural patterns
  • Developing practical coping and self-regulation strategies
  • Improving communication and relationship patterns
  • Understanding how stress affects the body
  • Supporting adjustment to personal, health or lifestyle changes
  • Building greater awareness of individual strengths and needs
  • Working towards agreed personal and therapeutic goals

The approach is evidence-informed and individualised. Progress and goals are reviewed throughout care so that therapy remains relevant to your needs.

A Mind–Body Approach

Mental and physical health are closely connected. Psychological stress may affect sleep, muscle tension, energy, digestion, concentration and daily functioning. Physical health concerns may also influence emotional wellbeing.

Our service takes these connections into consideration rather than viewing psychological concerns in isolation.

For clients who are interested, acupuncture may be available as an optional complementary service. It may be provided alongside psychological care, in supplementary appointments between psychology sessions or as a standalone service.

Psychology and acupuncture may also be accessed separately. Acupuncture is not automatically included in psychology appointments, and the available options can be discussed according to each client’s needs and preferences.

Who May Benefit?

Psychological support may be suitable for people who:

  • Feel overwhelmed, anxious or emotionally exhausted
  • Are experiencing ongoing stress or burnout
  • Are having difficulty sleeping or switching off
  • Want support with relationships or communication
  • Are navigating fertility or women’s health concerns
  • Want neurodivergent-affirming support
  • Are adjusting to a health condition or significant life change
  • Notice physical symptoms associated with stress
  • Want to better understand their emotions, behaviours or patterns
  • Are ready to actively participate in improving their wellbeing

You do not need to wait until your concerns become severe before seeking psychological support.
